Acting for Animators

This course is an introduction to movement analysis and how it can be used to discover character, story, text, and ideas for animation. Students are exposed to Jacques Lecoq's method of identifying with the rhythms and dynamics of the four elements: fire, water, air and tree. By exploring these dynamics and rhythms of motion the student discovers distinct characters and their stories that range from comedy to drama. Students discover how movement analysis can be applied to animation.
