This course will provide students with an understanding of the various groups that participate in recreation and leisure activities and programs. Students will examine diverse populations based on age and gender, disability, socio-economics, health, and culture. Students will also explore Therapeutic Recreation as a profession, the factors associated with planning and implementing quality recreational opportunities for these diverse groups, and their role in advocacy.
