This course will give the student a theoretical understanding of resistive, inductive and capacitive circuit loads as they apply to industry and construction electrical sites. The student will be able to identify and solve for the type of circuit loading and correct power factor to a level acceptable to industrial standards. The student will further study the various types of single and three phase equipment such as induction motors, transformers, and electro-magnetic and solid-state starts as to how they work and how they affect the electrical system.
