This course will allow students to gain exposure to various components of the Canadian legal system, policies and stakeholders, through which victims navigate. The victim's perspective is central to the exploration of current legislation, mission statements, administration, and accountability of the participants in the criminal justice process, civil and family law foundations. Findings of recent and historical inquests and inquiries are analyzed, and peripheral systems are discussed.
