The Well-being Centre offers a variety of services that students can access following an initial screening.

Wellness coaching

Wellness coaching is about helping students build resilience and succeed in achieving their well-being goals. Coaching helps students learn more about themselves so that they can assess their strengths to set goals and make decisions. Our coaches are trained to help students see clearly where they are today and then find ways to move forward towards their goals. Coaches do not tell students what to do; instead they act as a sounding board to help students discover what it is they want to do. Coaching is action-orientated versus counselling which is coping-orientated.


Short-term counselling is available through the Well-being Centre. Counselling provides an opportunity for students to share their struggles in a safe, supportive environment with someone who is trained to listen and respond in a supportive way. Working with our counsellors, students can explore who they are and what they want in life. Counsellors can also help students identify and solve problems. If long-term support is needed, our counsellors help transition students to community-based resources.
