SUMMARY:Ramadan
DESCRIPTION:Ramadan is a holy month observed by over two million Muslims in Canada and almost two billion Muslims worldwide\, commemorating when the prophet Muhammad received the revelations of the Quran. During Ramadan\, Muslims fast\, abstaining from food and drink from dawn until dusk. They also engage in prayer\, read the Quran\, and undertake different forms of charity\, known as Zakat. Ramadan usually lasts 29 or 30 days\, and the time during which it takes place varies year to year (according to the lunar calendar).  \n\n\nDurham College is committed to providing an inclusive and respectful learning and working environment.
