Are you a student who needs a little extra help this holiday season? The Durham College Food Access Bursary can help you with some of the cost of purchasing food during the holidays.
Submit an online application for the bursary between November 15 to 29 via MyDC under Financial Aid Self-Service.
To be eligible, you must live in Ontario and be:
- Registered with a full-time course load (60% minimum or 40% minimum for students with a documented disability)
- Have demonstrated financial need
We will consider unmet financial need when awarding bursaries, which means students who have recently received other types of aid to meet their need may not qualify. International students are asked to indicate family status in their applications.
Funds will be issued to eligible applicants via e-transfer no later than December 13. Part-time students and those commencing their studies in January 2025 are not eligible, however, if you need support, please visit www.durham.ca/.
Would you like to donate to the Food Access Bursary?
You can double your impact this year as the Durham College Alumni Association will match donations to the Food Insecurity Bursary up to $10,000, when you make a direct donation online through the Durham College Foundation. Please select the “Food Access Bursary” option from the designation list.
Donations are welcome until December 31 and gifts of more than $20 are eligible for a charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes in the 2024 tax year.
The Food Access Bursary is generously funded by Durham College, the Durham College Students Association, Durham College employees, alumni and community members.
