Future-Focused: DC Launches Strategic Plan Planning Process

This message is sent on behalf of Dr. Elaine Popp, President, Durham College.

Dear students,

Welcome to the 2024-25 academic year! Whether you’re a new or returning Durham College (DC) student, this exciting time is full of opportunities and possibilities.

This year is particularly special for DC as we launch the process of developing our new Strategic Plan. This guiding document, informed by conversations with students like yourself, as well as our Board of Governors, employees, alumni, retirees, donors and community partners, will help set our direction to advance DC.

Your input throughout our process is crucial, and we have created several ways for you to get involved and share your opinions to help shape the future of DC. Your participation is both encouraged and valued.

You’re invited to:

  • Participate in one of our student Town Halls, which will be held at the Oshawa and Whitby campuses.
  • Visit one of the pop-ups at the Oshawa and Whitby campuses.
  • Complete the online survey.
  • Visit the Strategic Plan microsite, where you will find valuable information about the process, links to sign up for a Town Hall and more.

Your relationship with DC doesn’t end when you graduate. Many of you will remain in the Durham Region to live and work. As DC’s reputation grows, so does the value and credibility of your academic credential. By contributing to the future of DC, you’re also shaping the future of your community.

I look forward to connecting with you throughout this process. Wishing you all the best for a successful and fulfilling year ahead.
