Gas Tech Sheet Metals Fabrication

Emphasis will be placed on providing a general understanding of the fundamentals of sheet metal development and fabricating techniques. The curriculum includes: The application of geometric principles in the development processes and the introduction to sheet metal terminology and practices. Practical application of fabrication methods in a shop environment and the use of trade related tools and equipment. The participant will be graded in theory and practical application exercises including the fabrication of sheet metal ductwork per design specifications. General course goals include: The familiarization of sheet metal terminology and the proper use and application of geometry and the principles of sheet metal fabrication as well as the application of different development methods. The emphasis will be on development and layout practices and ability to perform basic sheet metal fabricating techniques. Safety in the work place with use and operation of sheet metal tools and equipment.
