Well-being and Safety Supports on Campus

This message is sent on behalf of the Office of Campus Safety.

As a follow-up to the message shared on Friday regarding an arrest made at the Oshawa campus, we recognize the concern it may have caused our campus community. Well-being support, including confidential counselling services, is always available for employees and students. If you need support, please reach out to the resources listed below.

Durham College (DC) is committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of all students and employees. Our campuses are known to be welcoming, inclusive and safe spaces, guided by our values of respect, diversity and inclusion. Our efforts are also supported by strong and collaborative relationships with law enforcement so that we are well positioned to act swiftly and decisively, when needed.

As a reminder, DC offers several services to support a safe campus environment, including a campus walk program, code blue stations and the Campus Emergency Response Team. You can find more information about these resources, as well as directions to download DC’s emergency communication app, Alertus, on the Campus Safety website.
