Durham College uses the Alertus emergency notification system to communicate important information during high-priority incidents. Download the
AlertAware mobile app and enable notifications to receive emergency alerts directly on your device.
Please note that a full-system test of Alertus is scheduled for October 12. No action will be required during the test.
Know your safety resources
From emergency procedures and incident reporting to general safety information, the Office of Campus Safety website has resources to help you know what to do and where to turn when you need assistance. Review these resources to be prepared and informed.
Get help getting around campus
Campus Walk can provide an escort to your car, residence or another campus location on weeknight evenings. Code Blue emergency stations, located across campus, provide direct access to Campus Security when immediate assistance is needed.
Meet CERT
The Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) is made up of trained student volunteers who provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies and other incidents on campus. CERT members play an important role in supporting the safety of our campus community and work alongside the Office of Campus Safety and emergency services when required.
