Verification of Enrolment

A Verification of Enrolment (VOE) serves as an official copy of your registration as a full-time or part-time student at Durham College. This document includes your name, student number, program, how many credits you are currently registered. It also clearly states your full-time or part-time status, as well as in which year of your program you are in.

To produce a Verification of Enrolment (VOE) letter you must be registered for courses for the current term or have been previously registered in a past term.

The VOE letter is not used to confirm your enrolment for government student financial aid programs (Ontario Student Assistance Program [OSAP] or out-of-province loans).

To produce a Verification of Enrolment (VOE) letter you must be registered for courses for the current term or have been previously registered in a past term.

WHY YOU MIGHT NEED A VOE

Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)
Bank for a Student Chequing Account or Student Line of Credit
Insurance provider
Government agency such as Service Canada (CPP benefits)
High school scholarship committees or other non-Durham College scholarships
Third-party funding sources including, band funding, private funding, etc.
Immigration purposes (International students)

MY ENROLMENT STATUS HAS CHANGED

If you have already submitted a request and your information/status has changed, you can request an updated VOE by submitting another request for the same term. You will receive an "Your document has been updated by Durham College" email and then can view your updated document. Updates are free of charge for the same term.

APPRENTICESHIP & PROFESSIONAL & PART-TIME LEARNING (PPL) STUDENTS

Apprenticeship & Professional Part-time Learning (PPL) students who require a Verification of Enrolment letter:

Please complete an Official Documentation request form and upload it to Enrolment Services here by creating a case and selecting "Official Documentation Request". Your request could take up to 7 business days to be processed.

TUITION REDUCTION & PERMANENT DISABILITY STUDENTS

If you are a student with a permanent disability, registered with the Access and Support Centre and taking a part-time course load and still considered full-time

You are an international student registered in a reduced course load, the information in your VOE may not be correct. If your VOE is incorrect, the Enrolment Services team can provide you with an up-to-date VOE letter.

ALTERNATIVES

Some institutions will specifically ask for a VOE from the school. If this is the case, then ordering a VOE is the best way to proceed. However, in some cases you may not need an official document. Please review the free alternatives below.

- Durham College student card
- A print out of your timetable (found in MyDC)
- A print out of your Statement of Account showing tuition fees charged and paid
- A copy of your unofficial transcript (found in MyDC)

WHAT IS THE COST

The fee for each Verification of Enrolment is $16, plus tax. Fees are charged in Canadian dollars. Payments are non-refundable.

Learners can share the VOE for an unlimited amount of times for free within the access period (180 days). The VOE can also be downloaded as a permanent copy.

Learners can get an updated VOE in the same semester free of charge. For example, you requested and paid for a VOE for fall semester, a month has passed and your status, program, etc. has changed, and you need an updated VOE for fall, the updated document will be provided free of charge.

All purchases made within MyCreds™ will require your residential address and your billing address associated with your payment card to meet Canada Revenue Agency requirements. Your billing address postal code must match the postal code associated with your bank’s payment card, otherwise your payment will be rejected.

The MyCreds™ Learner portal accepts all common credit card brands as method of payment. Payment is made directly to MyCreds™ and is non-refundable. After purchase, you will see a purchase confirmation notice on the screen, and you will also receive an email confirmation. MyCreds™ is owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC); you will see MyCreds™ or ARUCC on communications and credit card statements.

Please note, when paying for a share credit, banks hold funds which are released in 24 to 72 hours when a credit card is not successfully entered (i.e. the billing address is not keyed in as an exact match to the billing address on the credit card statement.

REQUEST TIME

Once requested, students can expect to receive the link to their digital document within 5-10 minutes.
