Let’s hear from former participants what it’s like to study abroad! Photo gallery Testimonials “I’m about to be real cheesy but honestly studying abroad really does change you as a person. My study abroad experience has been amazing and I’m really sad that it’s over. If you asked me 5 years ago if I was willing to travel solo, the answer would have been no. My anxiety and confidence would have never allowed me to do such a thing, or so I thought. My time in Spain allowed me to do some serious self-reflection, soul-searching and just the ability to be content with my whole authentic and true self. I travelled to Malta, Ireland, the Netherlands and Belgium alone and honestly, I am so happy I chose to do so. I feel so much more confident and less anxious about going places alone, which I’d say is a pretty big accomplishment. I did everything that I wanted to do on my trips, including eating at restaurants alone, which is huge deal for me because I’ve always been extremely nervous about that. I feel like people need to stop being afraid to do things alone because the end result is seriously rewarding and travelling solo is honestly so amazing❤️ (sorry for the long caption 🙈).” Kailey - Semester Abroad Program at the University of Alcala, Alcala de Henares (Spain) “While in Germany, I had the opportunity to meet many people from around the world and travel to many countries, cities and historical landmarks. There were a number of events and excursions planned by DHBW such as a city tour, school dinners, a beer tour and local movie nights. They even took us on a trip to Austria, where we went up a mountain, saw some fantastic scenery and visited a zoo. It was a wonderful experience and I am grateful to Durham College and thank you for making it possible.” Lucas Corazza - Semester Abroad Program at DHBW, Ravensburg, Germany.
