Previous and ongoing COIL projects Working Across Borders: Business students engage in real-world, cross-cultural collaboration with peers and educators from more than a dozen countries, including the Netherlands, Indonesia, Slovenia, Finland, Ghana and Belgium. Students work in international teams to develop sustainable business solutions for real companies, guided by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainable Supply Chains: Students from Durham College’s Supply Chain Management – Global, Supply Chain and Operations – Business, and International Business Management programs joined forces with peers from Inholland University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands to explore the global supply chains of fresh-cut flowers and timber. With a focus on sustainability, students delivered actionable recommendations aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Art Across Borders: In partnership with the Limerick School of Art at the Technical University of the Shannon in Ireland (TUS), students co-created artworks around the theme of “rivers” that will be exhibited at the Clonmel Apple Festival in Ireland in late summer 2025. A second collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University’s (MMU) School of Art in England encouraged students to explore synergies in their shared cultural, political, and social heritage through art.
