Graduation
If you are planning to graduate, you must complete a Graduation Application through MyDC in the final semester of your program. The information you provide helps us conduct your graduation audit and prepare your official credential (diploma or certificate).
📅 Graduation Cycles and Convocation Ceremony
At Durham College, students graduate three times each year:
- Fall (October)
- Winter (February)
- Spring (June)
We host one convocation ceremony annually, held each June, where graduates from all three cycles are invited to celebrate.
🎓 Receiving Your Credential
- Fall Graduates (October): You can pick up your credential or request it to be mailed to you approximately one week after your graduation is officially confirmed, or you may choose to receive it at the June convocation ceremony.
- Winter (February) and Spring (June) Graduates: You may receive your credential at the June convocation ceremony, or request to have it mailed or picked up two weeks after the ceremony.
📋 Graduation Status and Application Process
After you submit your application:
- Your status will display as "Applied – Under Review".
- In early January, June, or October, your status will be updated to either:
-
- "Approved – Not Yet Awarded" (you’re eligible to graduate), or
- "Not Eligible" (you haven’t met all program requirements).
To track your academic progress, use the Graduation Audit feature in MyDC.
If you are found ineligible to graduate, you’ll receive a letter from Enrolment Services. We strongly encourage you to contact your faculty office’s administrative coordinator or student advisor right away for support.
💰 Graduation Fee
The graduation fee is typically charged in the first semester of your program. If it wasn’t assessed at that time, the fee will be applied when you submit your graduation application.
✅ Program Requirements
Each program has specific academic requirements, such as:
- Minimum cumulative GPA
- Required subject grades
- Restrictions on subject failures
Please ensure you understand your program’s graduation criteria. If you need guidance, contact your faculty office.
📝 Reminder: Your credential will not be prepared until your graduation application is submitted and all fees are paid.
Submit your application by:
- Mid-April for Spring convocation
If you’re unable to access the online form, please contact Student Records at convocation@durhamcollege.ca.
