KICK-START YOUR DURHAM COLLEGE EXPERIENCE AND MAKE FRIENDS TOO!

The best way to start your time at Durham College on the right foot is by attending the free mandatory International Student Orientation. Please book your flight so you will arrive in time to attend Orientation.

This is the day that you will receive essential information on how to achieve success throughout your studies and upon graduation, including information on health insurance, setting up a bank account, immigration, and learning about the many resources available to support you during your studies.

Topics covered during International Student Orientation are not the same as the topics covered during Program Orientation -- you should plan to attend both orientations.

Muhammad-Shees

Hello! My name is Muhammad Shees and I am a student in the Personal Support Worker program. I completed the Home@DC International Student Orientation course on DC connect and found it extremely helpful. It helped me collect all the documents that I needed before coming to Canada, and the International Student Advisors helped answer all of my questions regarding the college and immigration. I found the Housing topic in the course especially beneficially in that it helped me arrange my accommodation and decide which type of housing (on campus or off campus) best suited me. Before coming to Canada, my health was a main concern to me and my family. DC wiped out all my worries when I came to know by this course that DC provides insurance to cover my expenses in case I get sick. There is also the Campus Health and Wellness Center (CHWC) that provides a vast range of services such as: medical doctor visits, mental health services, chiropractic and physiotherapy services, massage therapy, wellness coaching, and pharmacy. I found this module highly beneficial for me and would like to thank DC and the International Student Advisors for making such a reliable source of information for new comers.
