Transfer & Withdrawal Options CHANGING YOUR DC PROGRAM If you have decided that you want to attend a different program than the one you have been accepted into at Durham College, you should do it as soon as possible as it depends on seat availability and your admissibility into that program. Programs can fill up weeks or months before the start date. You can email contact us with your name, student number and the program you’d like to change to. Withdrawal & Refund Information International students must complete the International Withdrawal request form to request a withdrawal/refund. Refunds and withdrawals For information on refunds, please view our refund policy and procedure. REFUND INFORMATION International students must complete the International Withdrawal Request form to request a withdrawal/refund. *Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing from the day you submit your Withdrawal form. Students who are withdrawing due to a Visa Refusal letter, or who's programs are waitlisted, are subject to an administration fee of $200.00, which will be deducted from their refund. Students who have accepted their offer and are choosing to withdraw from Durham College for any other reason including; transferring to another college, changing their mind about studying, health reasons, family responsibilities, or financial reasons, will be considered a Voluntary Withdrawal and will be subject to an approximate $2,700.00 deduction. Students who are withdrawing, but have completed at least one semester of their program are subject to a deduction of $250.00. If the reason you need a refund isn’t shown, then please contact the international office with a detailed message as to why you need your fees to be refunded. Students must submit the online form by 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Day 10 of their semester. For any requests received after this deadline, no refund for first semester fees will be issued. For withdrawals submitted after the withdrawal deadline, only subsequent semester fees paid will be reimbursed, less a $250 CAD processing fee. Fee's will be refunded via one of the following methods, depending on how the fees were originally paid; Flywire, CIBC, Wire or Direct Deposit. Transferring to another institution Refunds will be processed only if you will be attending an institution in the same semester as you were accepted to attend Durham. In addition, the program level must be the same or higher (for example, post-graduate to post-graduate or post-secondary to post-graduate). A valid offer letter from the institution indicating the start date of studies will be required. Durham will not approve tuition refund for a first semester to transfer to the following Partner Institutions – Algonquin College Cambrian and Hanson International Canadore and Stanford International Centennial College Conestoga College Fanshawe College Fleming College Georgian College Lambton, Queen’s College of Business Loyalist College Niagara College Northern College and Pures College Sault College St. Lawrence St. Clair Deferrals to next intake at Durham College Effective Fall 2022 as per our Withdrawal and Refund Policy, students are only eligible to apply for a deferral one time. After one deferral you can reapply for a new program intake or apply for a withdrawal/refund. No deferrals will be made for students who have already landed in Canada. Students who wish to defer their offer of admission to the next available intake must submit a Request for Deferral Form before 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Day 10 of their semester. Please note that students will only be allowed one deferral. All other requests will be denied and students will be instructed to reapply for admission to Durham College. If an SPP India student visa is rejected by CIC, Durham College is not permitted to offer a deferral under the policy of the SPP program. As an SPP school, the college must adhere to the SPP policies.
