Program Description

The Inclusive Leadership Practices program provides you with the opportunity to examine the theories, models and practices of inclusive leadership required in contemporary workplaces. You will define your own leadership philosophy through examining your personal values, beliefs, and attitudes. You will learn leadership strategies for effectively managing and leading organizational change, as well as focus on leadership practices that can build a positive and inclusive organizational culture. You will engage in reflective practice in support of building the leadership skills that are necessary to create a diverse, effective, and inclusive environment in 21st century workplaces.

Certificate Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) including Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 11 Math (C, M or U) OR
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) OR
  • Grade 12 equivalency certificate achieved through College academic upgrading OR
  • Mature Student Status (19 years of age or older) with Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 11 Math (C, M or U)
  • You must maintain an overall average of 60% or a GPA of 2.0 in order to graduate
  • A minimum of 25% of courses must be completed through Durham College

Program Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be equipped to:

  • Analyze the evolving nature of contemporary workplaces in an increasingly globalized world.
  • Explore and reflect on personal values and beliefs relative to leadership practices.
  • Examine organizational barriers, and power relations that result in inequities in the workplace.
  • Investigate change management processes.
  • Define and examine inclusive leadership strategies for effectively leading and managing organizational change.
