Micro-credentials Explained The term micro-credential most commonly refers to a short course or program focused on a specific, job-relevant competency. In other words, micro-credentials help individuals build the skills and knowledge needed to complete specific work tasks. Micro-credentials are typically developed with input from employers in order to ensure that the skills being addressed are highly relevant to the workplace. In many cases, micro-credentials allow each individual to progress at their own pace, rather than follow a weekly schedule that is the same for the whole class.
