This subject covers energy efficiency as it relates to building management and application, heating and cooling, air handling, lighting and electrical systems, and building control systems. You will learn to analyze all aspects of large building operations and suggest changes complete with realistic capital expenditure proposals that include payback periods. These changes are designed to improve utility consumption within that building.

Due to our campus closure as a result of Covid-19, this course will not be taught in class at the Oshawa or Whitby Campus. The instructor will be teaching this course via an online video communications system (Zoom or other). Face-to-face online classes will take place during normally scheduled class time. Assignments and tests will be posted using Durham College’s Desire2Learn based Learning Management System called DC Connect. Students will need a computer with webcam, audio, and a reliable high-speed internet connection to participate.
