In Curriculum Development I, students will be introduced to the principles and guidelines early childhood educators use to design inclusive, play based programs for young children. Special emphasis will be placed on the roles of play, creativity, inclusiveness and literacy in the development of curriculum which addresses children’s holstic development– physical, social/emotional and cognitive/language. Students will explore the components of curriculum which address the specific needs and interests of infants and toddlers. Using an activity plan form, they will create a "Play Box" activity for an infant or toddler.
