Principles of Purchasing

Purchasing I is an introduction to the procurement function. This activity is sometimes called "industrial buying". The student is introduced to the basics of the purchasing function including the purchasing cycle and the way the purchasing activity is integrated into the firm's organization. Various purchasing tools and techniques are described and practiced. The important topics of cost-price analysis and negotiation are studied.
