Program Description

The Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is the entry-level designation. It is also the best known HR designation in Canada and available exclusively from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA).

Requirements for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation are;

  • HRPA registration in good standing
  • Successful completion of the coursework requirement
  • Successful completion of the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam 1 (CKE)
  • Successful completion of the CHRP Employment Law Exam
  • Successful completion of the Job Ready Program

Durham College offers equivalent courses to the CHRP coursework requirements listed below. Upon completion students can submit their transcript to the HRPA for approval.

Note: HRPA requires an average of 70% with no individual course mark lower than 65% and must be completed within ten (10) years from the date you are registered to write the CKE.
