Cultivating Community & Cultural Resiliency

Code:
CMGT 1087

Flourish and persist in the face of evolving disaster risk. Every day, new challenges face our communities. For example, changing climate is creating new hazards and exacerbating existing ones. Instances of severe storms are appearing in areas that historically did not experience those types of events on the scale that we see now. Discover the frameworks and tools you can use to develop a vision for community resilience, inspire leadership, and create strategies that will guide actions in these difficult times. With the knowledge gained in this course, you will have the resources to lead in resilience building and exploring strategies you can employ in your own community. You will explore Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and how it relates to mitigation, preparedness, and, ultimately, resiliency. Additionally, you will delve into strategies to enhance community disaster resilience.
