Curriculum Development I - Early Childhood Education

Code:
CURR 1581

In Curriculum Development I, students will be introduced to the principles and guidelines early childhood educators use to design inclusive, play based programs for young children. Special emphasis will be placed on the roles of play, creativity, inclusiveness and literacy in the development of curriculum which addresses children’s holistic development– physical, social/emotional and cognitive/language. Students will explore the components of curriculum which address the specific needs and interests of infants and toddlers. Using an activity plan form, they will create a "Play Box" activity for an infant or toddler. Note: Students must sign on to DC Connect at http://www.durhamcollege.ca/connect using their student number and password (birthdate MMDDYR) to access the online courses. You will not be able to access the course until the start date. Please allow 24 hours after registration for the system to update.
