Career Development for HR Professionals

The purpose of this course is to help students prepare for and execute a job search in the field of Human Resources Management. Students will develop an industry-targeted professional cover letter, resume and references as supporting job search documents and will participate in mock interviews to enhance their interview skills and abilities. Through a variety of lessons and industry connections incorporated into the course students will enhance their understanding of the breadth and depth of the Human Resources field and will explore the Certified Human Resources Professionals designation (CHRP). Based on research to support further understanding of the field students will prepare a personal career and professional development plan as a future road map for success. Finally, this course will allow students to further develop their oral presentation skills that are invaluable to professional development as an HR professional.
