Tailoring and Outerwear

Code:
SEW 4900

(Formerly Sewing 4) This course incorporates all the sewing knowledge and skills developed in previous levels to construct a high quality woman's suit jacket. This combination of the best of manufacturing and tailoring techniques has been created into a systematic and duplicative approach. You will learn specialized pocket techniques like welt and bound as well as the secrets to a professional look in collars, lapels and the ultimate classic two-piece sleeve. The College will provide a sewing machine during class if required, however these are not available for any home assignments. You will need a sewing machine of your own, in good repair, in order to complete the required home assignments. There will be additional costs depending on your choices for project supplies. Please bring a notebook to the first class.
