Tailoring and Outerwear

SEW 4900

(Formerly Sewing 4) This course incorporates all the sewing knowledge and skills developed in previous levels to construct a high quality woman's suit jacket. This combination of the best of manufacturing and tailoring techniques has been created into a systematic and duplicative approach. You will learn specialized pocket techniques like welt and bound as well as the secrets to a professional look in collars, lapels and the ultimate classic two-piece sleeve.

You will need a sewing machine of your own, in good repair, in order to complete the required home assignments. The college will provide a machine during class if necessary. Please bring a notebook to the first class. Other supplies required for the course will be discussed in class. There will be additional costs depending on your choices for the various supplies.

Tuition includes a $25 non-tax deductible fee.
