Program Description

The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) is the self-regulatory body for insurance brokers in Ontario. Established in October 1981, RIBO regulates the licensing, professional competence, ethical conduct and insurance related obligations of all independent general insurance brokers in the province.

Every registered insurance broker must be properly licensed and the first step is to complete the Entry Level RIBO licensing examination which requires a minimum passing grade of 75%. Individuals who pass the exam are eligible to work in the industry with the restriction of "Acting Under Supervision". For the complete licensing details please visit www.ribo.com.

Durham Colleges offers a prep course to prepare you to write the RIBO exam and is based on the content / material covered during the exam. Upon completing the course you will write the RIBO licensing exam.
