This course focuses on structure and function in the areas of cellular biology, microbiology, human anatomy, genetics and our natural environment. Three major themes of biology are introduced: organization, homeostasis and interconnectedness. Emphasis is on the practical application of these concepts. The content of the course reflects the needs of many adult learners entering postsecondary college programs in health and environmental sciences.
Effective January, 2013 students registered to take an ACE Distance course through the tuition-free option managed by the College Sector Committee who have not logged on within 13 days of the start of the course will be removed from the course. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the CSC at info@cscau.com. If you are removed from a course you will not be able to register for any further ACE Distance courses as a tuition-free student.
Note that a final grade of at least 70% in the course is required to be eligible for registration in another free ACE Distance course, and/or to use the course toward attainment of the ACE certificate.
