SSW Field Placement I and Seminar

Field placement I & Seminar allows students the opportunity to begin the process of integrating Social Services Worker theory into practice. The student is required to complete the assigned hours of field work in a community setting which provides direct client service. The seminar portion of the course is a mandatory online class in the program. In seminar class, the student will have the opportunity to discuss issues pertaining to field placement.

Notes:

Students should ensure they are following the Program of Study for the year they began the SSW Diploma program.

This course is intended exclusively for students who were admitted to the SSW Diploma program AFTER October 1, 2024. It will not fulfill program requirements for students admitted before this date.


Field Placement Instructions

Registration for this course will appear as 'closed' on our website. Permission from the placement officer is required to register for these courses. The approval is based on the successful and timely submission of all pre-placement/observation paperwork.
