Financial Management in Community and Social Service (Micro-credential)

The Financial Management in Community and Social Services micro-credential provides students with knowledge of financial management
activities relevant to the community and social service sector to support decision-making and sustainable planning. Examination of best practices
in fiscal reporting requirements and financial statement management, specifically addressing community service organizations is emphasized.
Students will engage in business plan development and budgeting with a focus on responsible diversification.

    MICRO-CREDENTIAL FEATURES:

  • Classes are scheduled online once per week from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm via Zoom
  • One additional hour each week is allotted for online self-directed work
  • Eligible for funding through Ontario ECE Grants
  • This micro-credential has been developed for individuals with previous work experience.

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered Early Childhood Educator, in Good Standing, with the College of Early Childhood Educators in Ontario

    COURSE COMPETENCIES:

    Upon completion of this Micro-credential, students will be equipped to:

  • Implement evidence-based financial management strategies to support sustainable planning.
  • Create and manage a fiscally responsible budget plan to support decision making and sustainable planning.
  • Develop transparent reconciliation processes in alignment with provincial and municipal funding program requirements.
