This Safety, Labour & Licensing Regulatory Requirements micro-credential examines building construction business operations as required by the Ontario Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Students identify the stages for planning for permits and inspections and keeping records in compliance with government regulations. Emphasis is on health and safety regulations, and maintenance of employment records to comply with CRA requirements for employment reporting periods.

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) including Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 11 Math (C, M or U) OR;
  • Grade 12 equivalency certificate achieved through College academic upgrading OR;
  • Mature Student Status (19 years of age or older) with Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 11 Math (C, M or U)

    PROGRAM COMPETENCIES:

    Upon completion of this Micro-credential, students will be equipped to:

  • Operate a construction business in compliance with government regulations to mitigate risk.
