Health Assessment for Occupational Health Nurses

Students will acquire the knowledge and skill to obtain a health history and perform a physical examination for various clients. Focus will be on the adult population and will include aspects of cultural compassion, aboriginal health, gender and sexual identity, interpersonal violence, and mental health. Health promotion strategies are integrated throughout the course and include an introduction to risk assessment in mental health, substance use, complex pain, and domestic violence.

Pre Req - RN / RPN

This course is intended for students completing the Occupational Health Nursing program.

Notes:

Note: This course has a minimum passing grade of 60%.

This course includes mandatory group work and requires video submissions as part of the assessment process.

Students must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario or the applicable regulatory body in their province.
