American Sign Language 3-Communicating with the Deaf

This course will cover units 7-9.6 in the Signing Naturally Curriculum.
You will continue to develop your conversational ASL receptive and expressive skills. You will develop and expanded your vocabulary, fingerspelling and numbers, non-manual signals, use of space, classifiers, grammar and syntax. This course will focus on describing people and things, making requests and asking for advice, describing places and storytelling/fables. Deaf Culture behavior is introduced in the classroom and through readings, videotapes, and Deaf community events. Class includes a lab component weeks three to ten as indicated in the second line of the schedule.
