Description:

This program is for guards who work in situations where there is a dedicated dispatch centre. Usually these involve tasks such as monitoring CCTV cameras, answering calls and dispatching guards, liaising with police, recording incidents and documenting events etc. Whether you are part time or full time in this position, this program will assist you.

Content:

  • Note taking and Documenting incidents/events
  • Communications for Dispatchers
  • How to screen/Prioritize calls,
  • How to identify criminal vs provincial offences vs policy violations and what to do about each.
  • Emotional Intelligence/Dealing with highly emotional people and managing distressed callers/Dealing with persons in crisis
  • Time Management/Delegation
  • Working with supervisors and upper management
  • Legal Academics: Offence recognition.
  • Officer Safety and the Role of the Dispatcher
  • CCTV cameras: Understanding the requirements of law for continuity and due diligence
