(Formerly Sewing-Pattern Making 1) You will be introduced to the concepts and applications of flat pattern making methods. You will create a set of skirt and bodice blocks. You will also have the opportunity to manipulate and create patterns with design features such as darts, yokes, pleats and other design variations. You will develop emphasis on accuracy and a solid foundation of procedures of pattern making.
You will need a sewing machine of your own, in good repair, in order to complete the required home assignments. The college will provide a machine during class if necessary. Please bring a notebook to the first class. Other supplies required for the course will be discussed in class. There will be additional costs depending on your choices for the various supplies.
Tuition includes a $17 non-tax deductible fee.
