You will learn how to successfully install base boards, window and door casings, and basic crown moulding, as well as the various tools associated with these. After completing this course, you will have the knowledge to: 1) identify standard mouldings and describe their use; 2) apply ceiling and wall moulding; 3) apply interior door casings, base boards, base caps, base shoes, chair rails plinths; 4) install window trim and explain aprons and window stools; 5) identify all tools applicable with mouldings - mitre saw, coping saw, table saw, brad nail guns, compressor for pneumatic tools, and demonstrate their design and safe use. This course will include shop and tool safety.
You will meet in room 11-08. Safety equipment, including safety glasses and boots is mandatory in all shop/lab classes. Students are to bring a tape measure, notebook and pencil to class.
