Pattern Making: Adapting Blocks for Fashion Design

(Formerly Sewing: Pattern Making 2) You will learn more advanced techniques that deal with drafting patterns for dresses, blouses and shirts. Also, you will draft the sleeve block into more complicated designs. You will focus on accuracy, fit, and the correct interpretation of styling for design purpose and prepare dartless blocks. As well, you will explore flat pattern methods using darted and dartless blocks.

Notes:

Note: You are to supply your own drafting equipment. Approximate cost is $20 and not included in fee.

Please bring your 18" C-Thru plastic ruler, a sharp pencil, white eraser, tape measure, paper scissors and lined paper to the first class. If you have any other rulers or measuring tools please bring them. Sewing machines will not be needed.

Tuition includes a $10 non-tax deductible fee.
