Advance your nursing skills with Durham College's Coronary Care unit courses. Learn to interpret ECGs and understand cardiac and coronary syndromes.
Our coronary care courses are permission-based registration. The courses show as “CLOSED” on the website – this does not mean they are full. They show as “CLOSED” because students need to meet the prerequisite requirements (RPN or RN certification) to receive permission to register.

Must have a current RN or RPN registration number.
Review cardiac anatomy and physiology. Increase your cardiac assessment skills and improve your knowledge and nursing skills of coronary syndromes. All common arrhythmias are included.
Notes: The minimum passing grade for this course is 70%.

Prerequisites: RN 1584 Coronary Care I for RN/RPN
Expand your knowledge of CAD, MI and their complications. A focus is directed to interpreting 12 lead ECGs and bundle branch blocks. Theory on pacemakers and common cardiac drugs is included.
Notes: The minimum passing grade for this course is 70%.
