Program Description

Looking to broaden your computer and design abilities? Develop foundational graphic design skills using industry-standard software in Adobe Creative Suite. This micro-credential includes hands-on projects in Photoshop and Illustrator, preparing you to edit and create a variety of digital imagery.

A digital badge will be awarded upon successful completion of this Micro-credential. After successful completion of all courses in the Program of Study you must notify us via email at pplbadges@durhamcollege.ca. Once verified, a digital badge will be issued to you.

Certificate Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) including Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 12 Math (C, M or U) OR
  • Grade 12 equivalency certificate achieved through College academic upgrading OR
  • Mature Student Status (19 years of age or older) with Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 12 Math (C, M or U)
  • You must maintain an overall average of 60% or a GPA of 2.0 in order to graduate
  • A minimum of 25% of courses must be completed through Durham College.

Program Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be equipped to:

  • Create and manipulate a variety of photographs and illustrations to meet needs of a project.
  • Design graphics with the use of industry-standard software.
  • Communicate design concepts in a clear and professional manner.

We recommend that students complete Graphic Design Foundations prior to this program.
