Early Childhood Education Field Placement I & Seminar

This course consists of 182 hours of field placement. Students will assume increased responsibility for working with children, individually and in groups. In addition, students will focus on the development of effective communication skills through interaction with children and adults in the placement setting.

Notes:

• Students must take Field Placement Preparation II (FWKP2382) at the same time as this placement. Students are also strongly recommended to take Observing the Young Child (CHLD1383) at the same time as the paperwork and activation requirements are the same. In addition, students will complete observing hours for Observing the Young Child while on placement.  
• Students must sign on to DC Connect using their student number and password (birthdate MMDDYR) to access this online course. You will not be able to access the course until the start date. Please allow 24 hours after registration for the system to update.

Field Placement Instructions: 

Registration for this course will appear as 'closed' on our website. Permission from the placement officer is required to register for these courses. The approval is based on the successful and timely submission of all pre-placement/observation paperwork.
