RISE is dedicated to supporting students from underrepresented groups in three main pillars: Outreach: Empower students to realize that post-secondary education is a viable option for them. Work with equity/ community groups to create pathways for post-secondary. Access and Transition: Promote successful academic and social transitions once students are enrolled in a program at Durham College. Provide service navigation to a multitude of student support services available on campus. Retention: Once enrolled, RISE works to ensure students from underrepresented populations have the community and support they need to achieve their full potential and reach their education/ career-oriented goals.
