Deconstructing Anti-Muslim Hate workshop

In January, Durham College’s (DC) Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is hosting a virtual two-part introductory workshop on deconstructing Anti-Muslim hate.

Open to DC employees, students and the broader community, and facilitated by Aasiyah Khan, manager, Education Programs with the National Council of Canadian Muslims, participants will develop a foundational understanding of Anti-Muslim hate; its origins, manifestations and its deep connections to racism and xenophobia within Canadian society.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions, where they will also learn how to recognize overt and subtle forms of discrimination and how to effectively challenge Anti-Muslim hate at both the individual and institutional/systemic level.

Dates: Wednesday, January 12 and Wednesday, January 19
Time: 12 to 1 p.m.
Location: Online

Please register for session one and session two by Wednesday, January 5 to attend virtually. A link to join the virtual session will be provided prior to the event.
