Devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria Posted on February 8, 2023 at 10:35 am. This message is being shared on behalf of Don Lovisa, president, Durham College. Dear colleagues and students, We are deeply saddened to see the devastating impact of the earthquakes and subsequent aftershocks in Türkiye and Syria. Our thoughts are with our students and employees, their families and our broader community, who have family and friends in these regions. Our Durham College community extends far beyond our campuses, and, when devastating events like this happen, it is felt deeply here as well. In times of crisis, it is reassuring to see how our community comes together to support each other. I want to remind you that confidential counselling services are always available for employees and students. Links to resources are below. And while the full extent of the damage has yet to be determined, many Canadian and global organizations are working to deliver emergency relief and to get help to those impacted by the earthquakes as quickly as possible.
