Get answers at Durham College’s (DC) Gear Up to Get Hired at Home events and Virtual Career Fair, taking place Monday, March 1 to Thursday, March 11, with tons of exciting opportunities to help inspire and prepare you for life after college. Meet potential employers, network with industry experts, and access helpful resources!

Gear Up to Get Hired at Home highlights

With multiple events taking place, there’s plenty of opportunities for you to up your career game in preparation for DC’s Virtual Career Fair. The best part? Even if you can’t attend a live webinar, you will find the recording on @GetHiredDC’s IGTV.

Gear Up to Get Hired at Home events – Monday, March 1 to Thursday, March 9

  • Virtual Career Fair walkthrough – running daily on MS Teams from 11 to 11:30 a.m. this is a great way to ease any of those pre-event jitters you may be experiencing!
  • LinkedIn webinar – learn the basics of setting up and using LinkedIn, including features of a great profile, tips to best present your skills and experience, job search functionality and the basics of networking online.
  • Personal Pitch webinar – pick up a few tips on how to put together a terrific pitch – the 30 second summary that will help an employer remember you.
  • Resumé drop-in sessions – get tips and techniques to take your resumé to the next level.
  • Virtual Interview webinar – virtual interviews are now the new “norm”. Join to explore best practices and obtain practical tips! 

Virtual Career Fair – Thursday, March 11 from 1 to 4 p.m.

  • Meet with employers, including those currently hiring for full-time, part-time, summer and seasonal work, as well as co-op and internships, and gain feedback from recruiters.
