Getting to know the Centre for Skilled Trades and Technology Posted on November 25, 2021 at 11:15 am. This message is being shared on behalf of Don Lovisa, president, Durham College. With so many changes and developments happening at Durham College (DC), I want to take a moment to formally introduce you to the latest addition at our Whitby campus – the Centre for Skilled Trades and Technology (CSTT). After more than a year of effort and construction, this new space opened its doors in September and now that students and employees are settling in, I thought I’d take a moment to help you get to know it better. The CSTT expands the college’s overall capacity in Whitby by 60,000 more sq. ft. Designed to help shine a spotlight on skilled trades training, innovation and education, DC’s electrical, elevating devices and plumbing programs can now take advantage of its many labs, configurable classrooms and a double-height learning space which is home to a two-storey building model. In addition, the new building features, student collaboration areas and a brand-new 2,000 sq. ft. Fitness Centre, where employees and students can find state-of-the-art cardio, strength and free-weight equipment. It also includes HD TV on all cardio machines and change rooms with lockers and showers. We are incredibly proud of the continued growth and development at the Whitby campus and welcome you to enjoy the new space and all the learning and social opportunities it offers. Sincerely, Don SHARE:
