Hate Violence in London Posted on June 8, 2021 at 1:28 pm. Dear colleagues/students, We are once again facing disturbing circumstances as we process news of the hate violence that took place on June 6 in London, Ontario. We join the rest of the country in mourning the four members of the Canadian-Muslim family that lost their lives and hold the remaining survivor in our hearts. Durham College stands alongside those affected by this tragic event, and especially the Islamic community, as we come together to condemn acts of hate, discrimination and religious persecution in our world. Instead, let the values of inclusion, tolerance and respect that we as Canadians hold dear, embrace those that are hurting while also guiding us forward. This may be a difficult time for members of our community as we continue to deal with this news. Students and employees are encouraged to seek assistance and are reminded that support is available.
