November marks Women’s Abuse Awareness Month and Durham College (DC) is preparing for the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign

The international campaign begins Saturday, November 25 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and runs until Human Rights Day on Sunday, December 10.

The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is proud to share the following in-person and virtual events with all members of the campus community to help raise awareness, galvanize advocacy efforts, and share knowledge and strategies to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence. Registration is only required if it’s indicated.

We are also collecting new and unopened items such as female personal hygiene products, clothing, kids’ toys, and toiletries between November 25 and December 10 for local Violence Against Women Shelters. Donation boxes will be setup at the entrance of the Student Services and Gordon Willey Building, however, please drop off gift cards directly to the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Room C106.
