Embedding Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging into All We Do

What should we prioritize in our quest to make Durham College (DC) a place where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to thrive? Additionally, what actions should we prioritize to address reconciliation and create spaces where Indigenous students and employees can excel?

At DC, we strive to create an environment that is fully inclusive and where everyone belongs and can thrive. As we listened to voices across our community, we heard a desire for authentic equity and inclusion to be reflected at all levels of the college, including increasing representation amongst students and teams from diverse groups and more accessibility considerations for students and employees.

Indigenization is a continuous process requiring each member of our campus community to actively commit to building respectful, reciprocal relationships that contribute to better educational outcomes for all students.

In this visioning session, we will set priorities for the next evolution of EDIB and Indigeneity work at DC and the actions we should take next to continue our journey to create safe, inclusive and accessible spaces for all.
