Rosh Hashanah Start: October 2 @ 8:00 am End: October 4 @ 5:00 pm Event Category: Days of Awareness Details: Beginning at sunset on Wednesday October 2nd and lasting until nightfall on Friday October 4th, Rosh Hashanah, is the Jewish New Year, and is observed by Jewish people here in Canada and globally. During Rosh Hashanah, Jewish people participate in personal reflection, hearing the shofar (an instrument made from a ram’s horn) and eating traditional food like challah, apple honey, and pomegranates. Most Jewish people spend a significant portion of the day in prayer and at the synagogue. Durham College is committed to providing an inclusive and respectful learning and working environment.
